What gets checked before anything is quoted
An oven that misses the dial is measured, not guessed at. A probe goes in the cavity through a full preheat and the swing gets read against the setpoint, because a thermostat forty degrees out and a weak bake element look identical from the doorway. Controls that go dark are usually power or a corroded ribbon rather than a dead board.

You are given the band first and a firm figure second, once the fault has been confirmed with the unit open in front of the technician. Nothing is dismantled and no part is ordered until you have agreed that figure, and the $89 you paid for the visit comes off it in full the moment you approve the work.
For comparison $7,360–$15,710 is a comparable Viking replacement, before installation. Against that, a repair inside the bands above is usually the cheaper arithmetic on a cabinet that is otherwise sound — and when it is not, you hear that on the visit instead of after the invoice.
